Charlie JJ Mair

Charlie joined Parker Cowan in June 2023.
Charlie graduated from the University of Otago in 2019 where he studied economics and finance alongside his law degree. During his time in Otago, Charlie served as president of the Otago University Judo Club, acted as a Kiwi Host to incoming international students, volunteered at the Otago Community Law Centre and clerked with a local barrister.
A move to Sydney marked Charlie’s first venture into the legal profession where he joined Ernst & Young’s Tax Controversy team, providing tax-related legal advice to businesses (including insurers, investment banks and superannuation funds) operating in the financial services sector.
With the world responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, Charlie returned home to Auckland where he took up a position as a junior criminal barrister. Here he honed his skills as an advocate, appearing frequently in the Courts across Auckland.
A love of the outdoors beckoned Charlie to move to Queenstown where he now resides. When not at work, he can be seen skiing, swimming, hiking and exploring the beautiful place we call home.
